Bruno Mars is expected to perform at Super Bowl XLVIII’s half time show come February, according to Joe Flint and Gerrick D. Kennedy of the Los Angeles Times.

Super Bowl XLVIII (or 48) will be played in New Jersey at the MetLife Stadium, home of the New York Giants and the New York Jets. It’s a bit surprising of a selection, considering Mars, while a headliner in his own right, doesn’t have the star power of recent performers like Beyoncé and Madonna.

According to the report, neither the NFL nor Fox would comment on the Mars report, but a NFL spokesman “would only jokingly say that Janet Jackson and Miley Cyrus have been ruled out as performers.”
