Kevin Durant says he wants to stay with the Oklahoma City Thunder, as of today

In a recent Q&A session with fans, Oklahoma City Thunder superstar Kevin Durant said that he wants to remain with the organization, saying he has no plans to move:

“I like where I’m at right now. I enjoy playing for OKC,” he said. “As of today, I love it there, man. I want to be there. I love the fans, I love my team, I love everything about the city. I don’t have any plans to move.”

As of today? Did you really need to add that in there, Kevin?

There were already sparks making their way towards the fire when you signed with Jay Z’s Roc Nation Sports but then you go an add the ‘as of today’ part?

Granted, it could have been a slip of the tongue and meant nothing. It really does seem that Durant enjoys playing for the Thunder and likes the ‘small market’ feel rather than playing in a city like Chicago or New York, but the ‘as of today’ part did seem a little weird.

He’ll have three years to figure it out as he’s signed through the 2015-2016 season.
