Miami Hurricanes running back Duke Johnson was carrying the ball down field and trying to make a play when Florida defensive back Jabari Gorman went in for the tackle. He got the tackle but not with out giving Johnson a low blow to the nether region.
It looks painful as all get out, but that’s why you wear cups! Johnson spent some time on his hands and knees hunched over on the field as he recovered from the blow and counted body parts. Johnson was eventually assisted off the field.
Johnson won the 2012 ACC Offensive Roookie of the Year and is arguably Miami’s best player. He averaged 171.7 all-purpose yards in the 2012 season. Last week against FAU he accumulated 224 yards for the Hurricanes. This week he is struggling, he has 17 carriers for 50 yards and a 2.9 yards/carry average. He also has 2 receptions for 12 yards but he’s also been kept out of the end zone all day.
It’s a tight contest currently as the fourth quarter winds down.
