The International Olympic Committee announced on Saturday afternoon that the 2020 Summer Olympics have been scheduled to take place in Tokyo, Japan. It will be the second time that Tokyo has been selected to host the Olympics, with the last time coming in 1964.

The vote was held today in Buenos Aires, Argentina.

Tokyo edged out Istanbul, Turkey and Madrid, Spain for the honors.

Istanbul has never hosted the Olympics, but they came in second this time around. Perhaps they can soon crack through with their sixth bid in the future.

For now, Tokyo can begin their preparations for 2020.

If there is one thing we know to expect in Tokyo for the 2020 Olympics, it is an incredible opening ceremony that will leave everyone talking. It is going to be fun.
