After a very successful opener last weekend, blowing out the Purdue Boilermakers, the Cincinnati Bearcats faced off against the Illinois Fighting Illini at home.
The Bearcats couldn’t replicate last week’s dominating performance, as they had the tables turned on them by QB Nathan Scheelhaase and the Fighting Illini, being blown off the field by a final score of 45-17. But, they lost more than just the game on Saturday.
In a scary moment in the first half, talented all-everything QB Munchie Legaux suffered a gruesome knee injury and had to be carted off the field.
Recently, the University released a bit of a status update on the quarterback.
UC release on Munchie Legaux says the QB will remain hospitalized overnight for what’s only being described as a lower-leg injury.

Initial reports stated that it was an MCL injury, although after being evaluated overnight I would assume that we’ll know more on his official status some time tomorrow.
It certainly was a vicious injury and we wish Legaux a speedy recovery.
