College football ref swears on mic after forgetting players number (Video)

Being a referee isn’t the easiest job in the world, but it is certainly easy to poke fun at them for missed calls and blatant errors. While their calls that can change the game are the easiest to notice, nothing is funnier than when a referee has a mistake while their microphone is projecting their every sound.

Whether it be saying the wrong number or a simple stutter can bring out a chuckle from the fans, nothing gets people laughing harder than hearing the zebras curse because of their own mistake.

That is exactly what happened on Saturday when a referee at the Syracuse vs. Northwestern game forgot the number of the player he was flagging for a penalty. In a simple human moment from the ref, he turned his head back towards the players and said, “shit.”

There is just something about cursing on live television that is enjoyable for people and brings out the kid in all of us, so enjoy the video below and listen to the refs unfortunate mistake:
