Jason Pierre-Paul expected to play for New York Giants

A few hours ago, Jason Pierre-Paul was nothing more than a game time decision for the New York Giants but it sounds as if JPP will suit up and play tonight, this according to Jay Glazer of Fox Sports.

Per Mike Garafolo:

Per @JayGlazer, JPP should be ready to go tonight for the Giants, barring some kind of late setback.

Pierre-Paul underwent back surgery about three months ago and wasn’t even sure if he’d be able to play in the season opener. However, after solid progress had been made in his rehab, the Giants were ‘thinking’ about making JPP active for their Sunday night game against the Dallas Cowboys.

Now, it’s likely Pierre-Paul will not only play, but should see a relatively large amount of snaps – likely 30 to 40.

The Giants will watch Pierre-Paul in warmups and if everything goes well and JPP feels good, he should be out there. Had he missed the game, it would have been the first missed game in his career.

Expect him to be out there and putting in work.
