Fantasy Football 2013: Top Performers Thru Sunday

The top five fantasy football players of the first week of the NFL season had all familiar faces come up big in scoring points. The best running back that went first over all in most drafts this year Adrian Peterson had 33.10 fantasy points as he scored 3 touchdowns today against the Lions. Peterson only rushed for 93 yards and 78 of those came off a run on his first touch of the game.

The next highest player would be wide receiver Victor Cruz, who tonight against the Cowboys scored 3 touchdowns for 118 yards. Cruz also scores 33.10 fantasy points and was in most line ups at receiver.

The third best fantasy scorer today is wide receiver A.J. Green, who finished with 37.20 scoring points as he hauled in 2 touchdowns for 162 yards on 9 catches and he just picks up where he left of last year.

The second best in the fantasy football scoring for the day was veteran wide receiver Anquan Boldin who made his debut as the number one receiver of the high powered San Francisco 49ers. Boldin caught 13 passes for a whopping 208 yards and a touchdown, as most of his points came off the yardage he killed the Packers defense for, as he scores 38 fantasy points today.

Of course the top fantasy scoring player is no surprise; quarterback Peyton Manning who threw for 7 touchdowns and in most leagues that is already 28 points, adding his yardage at 462, Peyton finished with a high of 46.80 points in fantasy points. I look to see these same players next week, although the match ups will dictate if they will top the list again, it normally does not happen.
