New England Patriots head coach Bill Belicheck isn’t somebody you’d consider to have a high patience tolerance.

In Sunday’s game against the Buffalo Bills, the much maligned head coach not only benched his tight end for a dropped ball, but he also benched starting running back Stevan Ridley after a second quarter fumble.

Not only was Ridley benched, he never saw another down, which lead to backup Shane Vereen getting the rest of the work.

Now with a short turnaround as the Patriots take on the New York Jets this coming Thursday, the Patriots are going to have to make a decision on their starting running back quickly. Right now, they say they’re not sure who it will be.

Per the Boston Globe:

"Offensive coordinator Josh McDaniels said Monday no decisions have yet been made on when Ridley might re-enter the lineup.“Stevan’s got to do a better job of holding on to the football,” McDaniels said. “He knows that. And we’ll work hard with him on that.”"

Ouch.
