It’s a short turnaround for the New York Jets this week as they’re scheduled to take on the New England Patriots on Thursday Night Football.

But just in case you had a hint of doubt in your mind, New York Jets head coach Rex Ryan wants you to know one thing – Geno Smith will get the start.

Per Rich Cimini:

"Rex confirms obvious, Geno will start this week, Sanchez is out. #Jets"

As Cimini points out, it really couldn’t have been more obvious. Fellow signal caller Mark Sanchez is out, possibly with a torn labrum and that leaves Smith as the only possible option.

Of course, with the Jets, I guess you really never know, but Smith will be your starting quarterback come Thursday night when the Jets travel to New England.

Smith, who made his NFL debut on Sunday, had a solid game, completing 24 of his 38 pass attempts for 256 yards. He also threw one touchdown and one interception in the process while adding 47 yards rushing on six attempts.
