After watching Dallas Cowboys quarterback Tony Romo go down with a rib injury, fans then watched Dez Bryant go down with a foot injury. Romo and Bryant’s X-rays both came back negative. Bryant had an MRI to examine other possible injuries and was diagnosed with a mild foot sprain.

“He seems to be walking around OK today,” head coach Jason Garrett said, “and we’ll see how he is over the next couple of days.”

There is no set timetable to expect a player to return from a foot sprain. In 2012, DeMarco Murray missed six weeks with a foot sprain. ESPN’s Ed Werder says Dez Bryant is expected to play next week against the Kansas City Chiefs.

Garrett also added that he did not believe Bryant’s injury was “too serious.”

Bryant certainly will want to get back on the field after he was frustrated with his personal performance in the season opener. Byrant caught 4 passes for 22 yards against the New York Giants, which led him to take out his frustration on innocent Gatorade cups.
