Eric Decker referred to his performance as “just ridiculous”
By David Miniel
Denver’s offensive performance during last Thursday nights season opener against the Baltimore Ravens was absolutely insane.
I don’t think anybody thought Peyton Manning would throw for nearly 500 yards and seven touchdown passes on the defending Super Bowl Champions but that’s exactly what the future hall of fame quarterback did. Peyton’s performance during the opening game of the regular season has to be the best we’ve seen in a very very long time.
One man who isn’t proud of his performance although he’s a member of that offense is wide receiver Eric Decker. Decker dropped a touchdown pass, dropped a pass on a simple slant route, fumbled a ball that went out of bounds and even committed offensive pass interference.
"“Greatly. The TD and the one across the middle – just ridiculous. Painful. For me, it’s more about focus than anything, attention to detail. All of that will carry over to the game.” Decker said on his Thursday night performance."
You know for a fact he and his starting quarterback got together at some point and talked things over. The Broncos play the Giants on Sunday in a Manning vs Manning showdown and I expect Peyton to target Decker to allow the receiver to redeem himself.
This could be his first break out game of the regular season.
