If there’s one wide receiver you need to be scrambling to add in your fantasy football league(s) right now, it’s San Diego Chargers WR Vincent Brown. After not playing at all last year due to a torn ACL, Brown entered the 2013 NFL Season under the radar and overlooked in most regular fantasy re-draft leagues.
In his rookie year in 2011, he caught just 19 passes for 329 yards and two touchdowns. His 17.3 yards per catch was certainly enticing, and with the Chargers having lost Vincent Jackson to free agency since then, along with the aging Antonio Gates and Michael Floyd showing signs of slowing down, Brown came into this year with a great opportunity to become the Chargers’ No. 1 receiver.
But against he Houston Texans last night, Brown started for the Chargers last night and finished with two catches for 13 yards and a touchdown.
Not exactly a killer performance that got anything more than 10 points in most leagues. But this was his first regular-season game since tearing his ACL. Not to mention he was being shadowed on a number of plays by All-Pro cornerback Jonathan Joseph, and still managed to sneak past him for a score.
