Former Minnesota Timberwolves and current New Orleans Pelicans big man Greg Stiemsma is hoping to earn the teams starting Center job this season.
I have no idea what this man is thinking, but you have to respect that man for believing in himself. Right now the starting center position should belong to second year pro Anthony Davis. Robin Lopez was traded away during the summer so you would think the organization would roll with the younger Davis as the starting center during the regular season.
New Orleans is back in rebuilding mode, but right now I doubt Stiemsma will even be considered a starter when opening night approaches.
The 27 year old 6’11 center out of the University of Wisconsin is entering his third season in the NBA. He’s started a total of 22 out of 131 total games in his short career and carries a .484 career field goal percentage.
The hopeful center averaged 4.0 points, 3.4 rebounds, 1.2 blocks per game and a career 3.6 points, 3.3 rebounds and 1.3 blocks per game in his three year career.
