After the stunning loss to unranked BYU, Mack Brown and the Texas Longhorns made a swift decision to fire defensive coordinator Manny Diaz. Mack Brown downplayed the decision saying it isn’t a panic sign, but now there is speculation that it might be.
Former Dallas radio personality Arnie Spanier claimed to have a source telling him that Manny Diaz was going to be ousted at Texas. Later that day, his sources information was confirmed when Diaz was ousted.
@StinkinGenius1 wow think I was right for once. Manny Diaz out at Texas!!!i think Mac is the one that should go!!

Longhorns boosters have grown tired of the three year lull in the program though. After going to the BCS Championship game at the end of the 2009 season the Longhorns have posted a mediocre 22-16 record. Not a horrible record, but not great. Of course that run started with a 5-7 season in 2010.
Apparently the Texas boosters are tired of it and Spanier’s source is now telling him that if Mack Brown doesn’t beat Oklahoma and go to a BCS bowl he’ll be finished.
Rumblings from Austin. If Mac doesn’t beat OK and go to a BCS bowl he’ll be forced to resign. That BYU game was to embarrassing.

That would contradict the statements Mack Brown made today deny that there was any added pressure. Of course these are only rumors and hearsay and there isn’t anything more to support this than just this source’s claims, so proceed with caution.
