San Francisco 49ers running back LaMichael James thinks he’ll make his return to practice tomorrow according to Matt Barrows of The Sacramento Bee. James is rehabbing a MCL sprain he suffered in a preseason game against the San Diego Chargers.

That has put the majority of the workload on Frank Gore’s more than capable shoulders. Gore carried the ball 21 times for 44 yards and a touchdown. Kendall Hunter added 24 yards on 6 carries and of course Colin Kaepernick carried the ball 7 yards for 22 yards.

It wasn’t the most stellar running game for the 49ers who collectively gained 90 yards on the ground, but it was enough to get them the win. It’s doubtful LaMichael James’s presence would’ve impacted that much. He averaged just over 30 yards a game.

Still his presence would’ve been a nice option for the 49ers to have.
