The New York Giants reunited with running back Brandon Jacobs after David Wilson put the ball on the ground twice. Jacobs played in New York for 7 years, including two 1,000 yard seasons, before last season with the San Francisco 49ers.
“Whatever they need me to do,” Jacobs said in a statement released by the team, via ESPN NY. “Whatever role they want me to play, I’ll come in and do it. I know the offense. I know they’ve made some tweaks here and there, and I’ll do whatever I have to do. … The Giants have given me a great opportunity. This is where I wanted to be. These are the coaches I want to play for and I wanted to come back with my teammates. This is the place I love most.”
In his career with the Giants Jacobs carried the ball 1,078 times for 4,849 yards and found the end zone 56 times.. He was barely used in his time in San Francisco, in two games he carried the ball 5 times for 7 yards.
