When the Cleveland Cavaliers told you that you needed to add weight Tyler Zeller, I’m guessing they weren’t suggesting you hit up your local Krispy Kreme to buy donuts, but that’s exactly what the former Tar Heel decided to do.
Zeller, who will be entering his second NBA season struggled in the post and was determined to add body mass this offseason, which apparently started with the donut addiction.
Per the Cleveland Plain Dealer:
The difference between Cavaliers center Tyler Zeller and most of the rest of us is that he actually wanted to gain 20 pounds on vacation.
How else to explain the 10 Krispy Kreme donuts in one sitting?
“They’re so good,” he said, unabashedly. “If you get them hot….”
Yeah, yeah. We know.
“I ate about six in probably 10 minutes, maybe less,” he said.
Now, in fairness to Zeller, he didn’t eat Krispy Kreme’s all offseason. In fact, he stayed on a relatively strict diet, sans the whole inclusion of the wonderfully warm donuts.
And now I’m hungry. Thanks a lot, Tyler.
