Jon Stewart criticizes Fox News: "Who cares how we avoided a war?" (Video)

The Daily Show’s Jon Stewart is back from a summer long hiatus and is going after one of his favorite targets, Fox News. In this hilarious segment last night he talks about how John Kerry might have channeled his inner Magoo and accidentally stumbled on a peaceful resolution between the United States and Syria.

He sets the stage by showing a clip of John Kerry suggesting that Syria could avoid attack by turning over chemical weapons, but adding  that Syria would never accept. Syria then said they would welcome this resolution bringing about a peaceful end to the tensions.

Fox News criticized the peaceful resolution with one Fox News analyst saying that the U.S. had been led into a humiliating defeat. Jon Stewart asks “who’d we lose to? Sanity?”

Then the rant gets good.

“I get that Fox opposes the Syria peace plan because its modus operandi is to foment dissent in the form of a relentless, irrational contrarianism to Barack Obama and all things Democratic to advance its ultimate objective of creating a deliberately misinformed body politic whose fear, anger, mistrust and discontent is the manna upon which it sustains its parasitic, succubus like existence, BUT…”

The crowd cheers wildly keeping him from finishing.

“Sorry, I blacked out for a second I was saying something?”
