New York Jets vs. New England Patriots: injury update

According to Ian Rapoport of NFL.com, the New England Patriots have listed wide receiver Danny Amendola and tight end Rob Gronkowski as doubtful for their matchup against the New York Jets Thursday night.

Amendola had a great debut for the Patriots in their 23-21 victory over the Buffalo Bills Sunday. The 27-year old had 10 catches for 104 yards, but showed signs of a groin injury throughout the game.

The Patriots have not seen Gronkowski since he re-injured his arm in the 2013 playoffs against the Houston Texans. He’s had several surgeries on both his arm and his back, but could make his debut on September 22 against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

Rapoport also reports the Jets have listed quarterback Mark Sanchez, linebacker Quinton Coples and wide receiver Jeremy Kerley as out.

Sanchez, of course, injured his right shoulder in the preseason. Coples injured his ankle in a 37-13 preseason victory over the Jacksonville Jaguars.  Kerley will miss the game because of a concussion.

Kickoff from Gillette Stadium is scheduled for 8:25 pm EST and the game is on the NFL Network.
