Long time WWE ring side announcer Jim Ross has retired from the WWE. After an illustrious career, Ross was inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame by his friend Stone Cold Steve Austin in the 2007 ceremony. Ross made his debut in 1993 at Wrestlemania IX and his career spanned 20 years.
Jim Ross’s announcing was a big part of the attitude era and he was able to inspire the crowd with his colorful and over the top commentary. His overzealous announcing has led to a plethora of videos with his ringside calls over events like Jadeveon Clowney’s hit on a Michigan player.
According to WWE.com, Ross is retiring “to focus on his personal business endeavors.” Ross has started his own company selling barbecue sauce.
