Georgia senior quarterback Aaron Murray was named the Manning Award Player of the Week and the Maxwell Player of the Week on Thursday for his performance in the Bulldog’s 41-30 win against No. 6 South Carolina in Week 2.
Murray was 17 of 23 for 309 yards and four touchdowns and helped Georgia jump back into the top-10 rankings. The Bulldogs are currently ranked No. 9 in the AP Top 25 and No. 10 in the USA Today polls, respectively.
Murray’s passing offense ranks 23rd in the nation and averages 316 yards per game.
Georgia (1-0, 1-0 SEC) hosts North Texas (1-1) at 12:30 p.m. Saturday at Sanford Stadium.
South Carolina is now ranked No. 13 and 14 in each poll, respectively.
