When you think of North Carolina University, you think of one thing – Carolina blue.

It’s become a color synonymous with the school and while at times they’ll variate (like the football team wearing an all black uniform with Carolina blue accents), the color is always featured in their uniforms.

That apparently won’t be the case though when the Tar Heels take the field on September 28th against Eastern Carolina, which has been deemed Military Appreciation Day by the school.

Opting to shed their famed Carolina blue’s for the day, the Heels will wear a red, white and blue uniform, complete with a fancy patriotic helmet as can be seen below.

The team announced the uniform addition yesterday, September 11th.

This isn’t the first time the Heels have worn a tribute to the military though as last year they wore their normal helmet with a stars and stripes logo, though, this year they’ve opted to change up the entire uniform look.

Pretty awesome, if I do say so myself.
