Floyd Mayweather vs Canelo: Alvarez says Floyd demanded fight day weight limit

Boxing legend Floyd Mayweather is set up for one of the biggest fights of his life against Saul “Canelo” Alvarez on Saturday night. With Canelo being the bigger fighter, it appears that Mayweather was trying to ensure he wouldn’t be able to use his size as an advantage on fight night.

Canelo said that Floyd and his camp tried to demand a fight day limit, but the Mexican refused the stipulation.

They came up with a second-day weigh-in. They wanted to do a second-day weigh-in and limit what I cold weigh the second day, and I wouldn’t agree to that. And then they tried to force me to stay quiet and to not mention it, and that’s why we didn’t say anything. And we haven’t said anything until now,” Canelo said.

This could show that Floyd is a bit worried about Canelo’s size and power, so there is even more concern that this could be the time Mayweather finally drops his undefeated record.
