Floyd Mayweather and Saul “Canelo” Alvarez are just a day away from their big meeting in the boxing ring on pay-per view, so the fighters took the scale on Friday afternoon at the MGM Grand for the weigh ins.
The fight is scheduled with a 152 pound weight limit and Alvarez came in right on the dot. Mayweather came in under the limit.
Here are the official weigh in results for tomorrow night’s big match:
152 lbs.: Floyd Mayweather (150.5) vs. Canelo Alvarez (152)
140 lbs.: Danny Garcia (140) vs. Lucas Matthysse (140)
154 lbs.: Ishe Smith (151.5) vs. Carlos Amado Molina (153)
There was some discussion earlier in the day that surfaced from Canelo saying Floyd’s team had asked for him to do a fight night weigh in, but he refused their demand and the fight will go on as planned.
Canelo is the bigger of the two men and it will be interesting to see how his size and power can be used against the much faster Mayweather on Saturday night.
