Gareth Bale to make his Real Madrid debut Saturday

When Real Madrid plugged in their new superstar Gareth Bale into the line up was up in the air. It looks like they’ve decided that his debut will be Saturday against Villarreal and he’ll play opposite of Cristiano Ronaldo in a wide-right position.

“Bale will play in a position based from the right,” manager Carlo Ancelotti said, via ESPN FC. “[He and Ronaldo] are two great players. I am convinced that working together will help the team to be better. [Bale] is very excited to be here. He is happy to be at the team he wanted to join. He is a humble player who likes to be with his team-mates and be part of the group.”

Bale previously had indicated that he was ok playing wherever Ancelotti wanted him on the pitch.

“I will play in the position on the field that the manager tells me, and I will give 100% for the team there,” Bale said, via ESPN FC. “I hope that I settle in very well and I will work for that in every game. I hope you will soon see that on the pitch.”

The match up itself doesn’t seem that appealing because casual soccer fans don’t know the Villarreal name quite like Madrid or Barcelona. Right now in the table Villarreal sits in third place, one spot ahead of Real Madrid.
