The New York Jets have appeared to move on from injured quarterback Mark Sanchez, who was facing quite the dilemma – go under the knife to repair his shoulder injury, ending his season or stick it out and hope for a return.

Many outlets have reported that Sanchez would undergo the season ending surgery, though, according to the New York Daily News, Sanchez has been advised by multiple doctors to not undergo the operation, at least not right now.

Per Manish Mehta:

"Multiple doctors have told Mark Sanchez that he should NOT have shoulder surgery at this time, per sources. #nyj"

Sanchez, who was diagnosed with a torn labrum has apparently decided to go through with the rehab rather than surgery, thanks to the advice of those doctors.

There’s no guarantee the rehab will work nor is there any guarantee that Sanchez will see the field again this season, but undergoing surgery would have squashed a return. Now he’s hopeful he’ll be able to play again in the second half of the season.
