Orlando Magic’s Victor Oladipo – ‘I really didn’t want to go to Cleveland Cavaliers’

Orlando Magic rookie Victor Oladipo hasn’t even played an NBA game and he’s already a hated man, well, at least in Cleveland.

The Cavaliers, who held the number one overall pick in the 2013 NBA Draft were reportedly interested in drafting Oladipo, but shocked the NBA community when they selected UNLV’s Anthony Bennett first overall.

That allowed Oladipo to slide to the Orlando Magic at number two, where he’s apparently thankful he didn’t get drafted by Cleveland.

Per OrlandoPinstripedPost.com:

Rookie guard Victor Oladipo may have inadvertently fanned some rivalry flames Thursday night with a remark he made about the Cleveland Cavaliers. At an exclusive event for Orlando Magic season ticket-holders, the Indiana product said, “I really didn’t want to go to Cleveland.” The Cavaliers used the first pick in the 2013 NBA Draft to select UNLV forward Anthony Bennett, leaving Oladipo available for Orlando general manager Rob Hennigan to select with the second pick.

Oladipo quickly posted a tweet suggesting he was sorry and ‘he didn’t mean it like that’ once the quote went viral.
