Texas A&M freshman defensive tackle Isaiah Golden is preparing for the biggest game of his young career at College Station, but first he had to deal with a difficult time in his personal life as his two-month old daughter passed away earlier this week.
There was no reason given for her death, but the funeral took place on Wednesday.
The 6-foot-2, 310-pound defensive lineman is uncertain for the game and it is expected that the choice on whether or not to play will be up to him.
It will be a tough decision, but often times sports can serve as an escape for players and it would not be a surprise to see him suit up and try to clear his head. As an added bonus, the team is a second family and their support for Golden during this time will be welcomed.
We send out our thoughts and condolences to Golden and his entire family. One of the happiest moments in a person’s life is welcoming a new life to the world, so it is heart-breaking to see it all take a turn for the worse.
