Dupree, Citadel get the win over Western Carolina 28-21

Ben Dupree rushed Citadel to a win as he went for 126 yards and two touchdowns. There was also defensive work as Citadel returned an interception and fumble for touchdowns. Here’s the rundown:

Dupree put together a 19-play touchdown drive on the first possession of the game, ultimately taking the ball in himself to get the Bulldogs (1-2, 1-1) on the board. Dupree led the Bulldogs running game but managed only 17 yards passing with one interception. Starting fullback Darien Robinson ran for just 50 yards on 14 carries.

The Citadel was also able to capitalize on mistakes by the Catamounts (0-3, 0-1), returning a fumble and an interception for touchdowns. On Western Carolina’s first possession, The Citadel’s James Riley forced a fumble, recovered by Tevin Floyd who ran eight yards for a touchdown and a 14-0 Citadel lead.

Keep on trucking, Fox Sports. So, the Bulldogs basically “bulldozed” their way to a win? They had a bully day on the field. Oh wait, I guess my “bull” jokes are full of bull crap, huh? Okay, I’m done.
