It was a slow start for Stanford but they managed to pull away with a 34-20 win. From our friends at Golden Gate Sports:

The Cardinal had a tough time in the first quarter, allowing two field goals to the Black Knights. It wasn’t until Michael Rector hauled in a 26-yard touchdown pass with less than a minute remaining in the first quarter that Stanford got on the board and took a 7-6 lead. Stanford headed into the half with a 20-13 lead.

A couple of scores later and Sanford was up 34-13 before a late score by the Army made it the final score of 34-20. Sanford is now 2-0. Here’s a couple of key performances:

Hogan had a solid game under center, throwing for 188 yards and three scores to one interception. Ty Montgomery had a great day on the outside, catching six passes for 130 yards and the touchdown.

Next Saturday the Cardinal host a strong Arizona State squad. It starts 4:00p.m. PT. It should be a good one.
