It appears Alexis Ajinca is opening some eyes in the NBA, despite not playing in the league since the 2010-11 season.

Ajinca, selected 20th overall in the 2008 draft by the Charlotte Bobcats last played for the Toronto Raptors, after which he began playing in France.

He has spent the past few seasons playing for Strasbourg and his impressive play for France in the EuroBasket Championships had lead to some apparent interest from both the Utah Jazz and Oklahoma City Thunder, this according to BasketUSA (rough translation thanks to Google Translator):

This leaves only 16 days to NBA franchises to sign but the possibility exists and is increasing as the player 2m17 string of good performances (10.7 points, 6.9 rebounds in 19 minutes) at the European Championships. According to L’Equipe, recruiters sent by Oklahoma City and Utah also take a very attentive to the performance of the pivot eye.

Still just 25 years old, at 7’2, it seems as if some teams may be willing to take a small risk on the project big man.
