It’s not shaping up to be the best week for NFL running backs.

Moments ago, Green Bay Packers running back Eddie Lacy was knocked out of the game after he suffered a concussion thanks to a helmet to helmet hit and now Atlanta Falcons running back Steven Jackson is out of his game against the St. Louis Rams.

Jackson came up limping after a tackle, though, tried to momentarily play it off before going to the sideline. The end result is apparently a thigh bruise, which could linger into upcoming weeks though of course, that’s speculation at this point.

After talking with trainers, Jackson, who was on the sidelines, did walk to the locker room under his own power, though, did so extremely slowly and was in clear pain until he went out of camera view.

Adding insult to injury, in addition to losing Jackson, the Falcons also lost fullback Bradie Ewing – the only fullback on the roster. He slammed his shoulder into the turn after a pass reception.

Ewing is out for the game – Jackson’s return is questionable, though, unlikely.
