One of college football’s greatest rivalries was extended by two games Monday.
According to several outlets, BYU and Utah have scheduled a home-and-home series for 2017 and 2018, ensuring the “Holy War” rivalry will be played at least until the end of the decade.
“As many people are aware, we have been working on these two games for awhile,” BYU athletic director Tom Holmoe said. “It’s an important historical series for the state and the fans of both schools. It’s nice to have it completed.”
This news comes at a great time, because Utah (2-1) visits BYU (1-1) at 10:15 p.m. this Saturday (ESPN2).
Utah leads the series 53-31-4.
BYU also visits Utah on Sept. 10, 2016.
