Remember Kevin Ware? The Louisville guard who suffered a gruesome leg injury in the NCAA tournament last March. He missed the Final Four and wasn’t able to play in the National Championship game. Just recently Louisville head coach Rick Pitino said it’d be a while before he returns.
“It’s going to be a while before he gets on the basketball court,” Pitino said. “This is a very serious injury. We’re going to take our time with him. I’m not saying we are going to redshirt him, but we are going to take our time.”
“Latest x-rays for Louisville G Kevin Ware’s rt leg show good healing,” Louisville’s Senior Associate Athletic Director for Media Relations and Sports Information Director Kenny Klein tweeted. “He’s expected to resume basketball activities in about 4 weeks.”
Well apparently by four weeks they meant, already. Ware’s teammate Chris Jones posted a video of him dunking on his Instagram, which is private. but the video found it’s way to YouTube.
This is a great story and hopefully Ware’s rehab continues and he can get back on the court in more competitive situations real soon.
