Nebraska Cornhuskers coach Bo Pelini apologizes for rant

Well that didn’t take long.

Audio of an angry rant by Nebraska Cornhuskers head coach Bo Pelini made its way onto the Internet today courtesy of Deadspin. Considering Pelini is already embroiled in a tiff with former Nebraska quarterback Tommie Frazier, and considering his team blew a huge lead at home against UCLA this past Saturday, audio of him cursing about Nebraska fans probably isn’t the sort of thing he wants to have hanging over his head at the moment.

Anyway, Pelini issued the following apology this evening:

I want to sincerely apologize for my comments from two years ago which became public today.  I take full responsibility for these comments.  They were spoken in a private room following the Ohio State game.  I was venting following a series of emotional events which led to this moment.  That being said, these comments are in no way indicative of my true feelings.  I love it here in Nebraska and feel fortunate to be associated with such a great University and fan base.  I again apologize to anyone whom I have offended (Huskers.com).

Yep, that piece of from-the-heart remorse will certainly placate the Nebraska fans he invited to “kiss [his] ass out the fucking door.”
