It seems as if the NBA has become the league of proclamations. If you’re not making a prediction on how your season is going to go, you’re apparently not doing it right.
Though, in fairness to Lillard, while most proclamations seem to be a bit outlandish, the second year guards suggestion that he can make the NBA All-Star team this season isn’t exactly over the top.
Lillard, the reigning Rookie of the Year award winner could’ve very easily make the All-Star game last season off his numbers, and while he’s asked to play a few less minutes this season, with an expanded role making the All-Star game doesn’t seem like too far of a stretch, not even to Lillard himself.
Per CSN Northwest:
The Trail Blazers will feature a new look this season: new arena name, new bench, new start. Though it was the end of an era for the Rose Garden, no more chalupas and no more Luke Babbitt to hit them, Rookie of the Year Damian Lillard has set some goals not just for himself, but his team. 46 wins and an all-star appearance.
