Entering a rivalry game, you want all hands on deck. That won’t be the case for the BYU Cougars when they take on the hated Utah Utes Saturday.
The Cougars have suspended starting linebacker Spencer Hadley. According to College Football Talk, the Cougars have suspended Hadley indefinitely for the infamous “unspecified violation of team rules.” A press release that was sent out did not contain a comment from head coach Bronco Mendenhall.
Through two games, Hadley, who has started 15 straight games, had 12 tackles. As a junior last season, Hadley had 55 tackles, nine tackles for loss and three sacks. He also had two fumble recoveries, two quarterback hurries, one forced fumble and one pass breakup (BYUCougars.com).
Against the Utes last season, Hadley had his best game. He made 10 stops, two for loss and had 1.5 sacks in a 24-21 Utes victory.
The game between the Cougars and Utes, which is known as the holy war, will kick off from LaVell Edwards Stadium at 10:15 pm EST Saturday. You can watch the game on ESPN2.
