Last weekend, all eyes in the boxing world were on the Floyd Mayweather vs. Saul “Canelo” Alvarez fight for the super welterweight title on pay-per view. It was clear to those watching that Mayweather won the bout, but when scorecards were read there was a pause because of a controversial 114-114 scorecard that led to a majority decision.

The good news is that Mayweather still won the fight, but it was stunning that someone had ruled in favor of Canelo.

Here is a photo of the controversial scorecard from judge C.J. Ross, via Luke Thomas of SB Nation:

It is still mind-blowing to remember that one judge scored the fight as a draw and it is even more surprising to see with your own eyes. For Ross to give Canelo four of the final five rounds just seems outrageous. Mayweather was cruising at the end of the fight, but apparently Ross was extremely generous and decided that she was ready for a new king of the boxing world.

Shocking.
