The Texas Rangers have been sliding as the season wraps up again, for the second consecutive season. At one point they were atop the American League West division, now they’re 6.5 games behind the Oakland Athletics. They’re also barely clinging to a Wild Card berth with a 0.5 game lead over the Cleveland Indians.
From the Dallas Morning News:
“…Ron is not the guy out there standing on the mound or in the batter’s box or fielding a position,” Ryan told Galloway and Company on KESN-FM 103.3.
“I think Ron has done everything within his power to try to motivate his club, and I just think we have some people having sub-par years, and we’ve had some injuries, and we just, we brought a lot of young players into our organization that don’t have a lot of experience.
“I think it’s a combination of a lot of things. But it comes down to the guys on the field”
The Rangers have lost their last 7 games and are 1-9 in the last 10. That brings them to 2-12 in September. If they want to make the Playoffs they’re going to have to turn it around or they’re quickly heading to the offseason.
Winning a Wild Card berth won’t be easy, right now there are 6 teams separated by 3.5 games.
