There is a certain buzz that surrounds some players in the NBA. Allen Iverson, Penny Hardaway, and Tracy McGrady are a few players who have created a cult following throughout NBA history. There’s another legend out there–Ricky Davis. Davis was JR Smith before JR Smith, he could fly and shoot teams in or out of games. Davis hasn’t played in the NBA for the last 3 seasons, but it looks like he’s attempting a comeback, according to Jared Zwerling of Bleacher Report:
Ricky Davis — yes, that Ricky Davis who played in NBA from 1998-2010 — is in #Knicks mini-camp today/tomorrow with 9 other camp hopefuls.

There’s really no chance that he makes the team, but the potential of JR Smith and Ricky Davis in the same training camp makes me wish I was covering the Knicks. For those younger readers who don’t know who Davis is, here’s a few highlights:
There’s a reason Davis played for 7 teams, and was never able to stick on a good one. He could fill it up, but he was usually inefficient. But heck, he’s fun. Doesn’t that count for something? Davis averaged 13.5 points per game on 44% shooting over his 12 year career. He spent the last 3 seasons in the D-League and overseas.
