There won’t be any games this week in college football between teams with realistic national championship aspirations, but there will be a number of games between teams needing every win they can get just to make it into the bowl season, and one of the better matchups between teams likely to be on the 5-7 win mark by season’s end will be the Arkansas Razorbacks heading to Piscataway to take on the Rutgers Scarlet Knights.
Last year, the Knights came into Fayetteville and scored a huge road-win over a struggling Razorbacks squad, and led by new head coach Bret Bielema, the hogs will be looking to return the favor this year and get back to bowl eligibility after missing out on the postseason last year.
The Arkansas running back duo of Jonathan Williams and Alex Collins is one of the best in the nation, as the two backs have combined to rush for 811 yards and five touchdowns in their first three games. Collins became the first freshman in SEC history to gain 100 yards or more in his first three games after getting 115 in the Razorbacks’ 24-3 win over Southern Mississippi on Saturday. He’s also the first freshman in the NCAA to do so since one Adrian Peterson did it in 2004.
Williams also has three-straight 100-yard games to start the season.
