Henrik Stenson is in prime position to capture the 2013 FedEx Cup title, currently second in standings thanks in large part to a two-stroke win in the Deutsche Bank Championship earlier this month. However, with the final tournament of the year about to commence at East Lake, Stenson is battling intense pain in his left wrist.
It isn’t great. It’s pretty painful. But hopefully, we can stick it out another four days and still play good.
It started last week at BMW. I thought I’d slept funny on my hand on the Saturday morning. It hasn’t really been affecting my shots that much but it’s gradually getting more and more painful kind of overnight before I get going in the morning. So I’ll try to rest it a little bit today and probably come out earlier tomorrow and do a bit more (Reuters).
Stenson will be paired with Tiger Woods for the opening round at East Lake. The two will be teeing off at 2:00 p.m. ET. Let’s hope Stenson is able to battle through the pain and give Woods a run for his money.
