Machete Kills: New Trailer Shows Us Why We Love Him So Much (Video)

In the 2010 film Machete we were introduced to an ex-federale named Machete. Machete is a born killing machine, who was tortured by the loss of his family. With equal parts comedy and action, people were understandably drawn to Robert Rodriguez’ grindhouse film.

This year, Machete will be unleashed on us once again.

The newest trailer for Machete Kills reminds us why we love the film series so much.

The film has a fairly star studded cast. Danny Trejo will be reprising his role as Machete. Also returning to the film are Jessica Alba as Sartana, and Michelle Rodriguez as the revolutionary Shé.

There are quite a few A-List actors joining the cast as well. Amber Heard will be playing Machete’s handler Miss San Antonio, Lady Gaga will be playing La Chameleón, playing her alter ego will be Cuba Gooding Jr. as El Cameleón, Modern Family’s Sofia Vergara will be playing Madame Desdemona, Antonio Banderas will be playing Gregorio Cortez (Does that name sound familiar to you?), Demian Bichir (Weeds, The Bridge) will be playing Mendez the Madman, and Alexa Vega will take on the role of KillJoy.

Now get this, Charlie Sheen, or should we say Carlos Estévez, will be playing the President of the United States. Can you imagine Charlie Sheen in the White House?

Machete’s main target will be Luther Voz, who is being played by Mel Gibson. Voz is a revolutionary who has a missile trained directly on the White House. In his defense, the President dispatches Machete to take care of Voz before it is too late.

As you can see from the trailer, Machete Kills still has the same balance of action and comedy that the first film did. While I will concede that some of the action sequences in the film are kind of cheesy, I think that is what I enjoy most about the movies. They are just an all-around good time.

Machete Kills is set to hit theaters on October 11, 2013.
