After Floyd Mayweather defeated Saul ‘Canelo’ Alvarez a questionable photo appeared on Mayweather’s Instagram taking a shot at Oscar De La Hoya and his recent stint in rehab.

He has since deleted the post and apologized via that same Instagram account:

It’s unfortunate that a stupid picture was posted to my Instagram account earlier today that was not posted by me or authorized by me to post.

As I clearly stated during my fight week and again in the post-fight conference, I completely support Oscar De La Hoya and his family during this difficult time in his life. I stand by him unconditionally and would never personally disrepsect him or anyone else who struggles with addiction.

I apologize to Oscar and his family for this posting. I wish him well and am rooting for him to win his fight too.

I apologize to all of my followers for this ridiculous post. I have no ill-will towards anyone.

The whole story found it’s way to Oscar De La Hoya and TMZ asked him about it when running into him in a parking lot. Despite De La Hoya’s entourage’s best efforts to keep the paparazzi away, he held up the camera and changed from asking about fighting Mayweather to the post itself.

“That was very nice of him. I greatly appreciated it.”
