Tajh Boyd discusses Clemson's 2011 loss to N.C. State

Preparing for tomorrow’s game between the Clemson Tigers and the North Carolina State Wolfpack has stirred up some unhappy remembrances in Clemson quarterback Tajh Boyd. The Wolfpack beat Boyd and his Tigers back in 2011 when Clemson was the ranked No. 7 in the nation and N.C. State was a woeful 5-5.

Boyd spoke to The Charlotte Observer about that heartbreaking loss:

We had just clinched the division (the week before) and I just think that we weren’t a very mature team then. We just didn’t handle success. It’s not just learning to handle adversity. It’s learning to handle success.

I believe we’re a very different team. It’s the leadership role we’re in as seniors. That’s our job.

This year the Tigers are ranked No. 3 in the country, having pulled of a huge win against Georgia to start the season. Both the Tigers and the Wolfpack are coming off bye weeks, which means both teams should be rested and prepared for tomorrow night’s showdown. The game will air at 7:30 p.m. ET on ESPN.
