The Texas A&M Aggies put up a valiant fight against the Alabama Crimson Tide last Saturday, yet even a remarkable performance by Johnny Manziel was not enough to secure the win for the Aggies. Now, with a game against Southern Methodist coming up, the Aggies have to move past the tough loss and prepare for the rest of the season, something that A&M running back Ben Malena says may actually be made easier thanks to the loss.
I think it will be easier. I think it’s easier just for the fact that we do have a loss. We understand how important it is to take it one game at a time. It’s a one-game season every week and you have to prepare for it like it is a one-game season (ESPN).
While dropping an important conference game is certainly not ideal, it’s good that the Aggies appear to be using the loss as a way to refocus their energy. Of course, even with a loss the Aggies can still make the national championship game, like Alabama did last season.
