Florida State Seminoles suspend DL Eddie Goldman, LB Christian Jones

After Thursday evening’s practice, Florida State Seminoles head coach Jimbo Fisher announced that two key contributors, DL Eddie Goldman and LB Christian Jones, would be suspended for Saturday’s game against the Bethune Cookman Wildcats.

Fisher cited the famous “violation of team rules” as the reasoning behind the suspension, reports Natalie Pierre of the Tallahassee Democrat.

Jones, a senior out of Lake Howell High School, in Central Florida, is in his third year as a starter. The 6’4, 235 lber. has 13 tackles through two games this season.

Goldman, a true sophomore from Washington, D.C., made his first career start in the Seminoles’ 41-13 victory over the Pittsburgh Panthers on September 2. He did not record a stat, but had two tackles in a 62-7 victory over the Nevada Wolfpack Saturday.

Suspensions are never good, but with the Seminoles hosting the Wildcats on Saturday at 6:00 pm EST, it shouldn’t make any difference.

According to Brandon Mellor of Seminoles.com, redshirt sophomore Terrance Smith will replace Jones in the lineup and redshirt senior Demonte McCallister will start for Goldman.
