I’m not sure I’d be throwing down my Vegas money on the predictions of Metta World Peace, but if you’re in the market to do so, you apparently need to put your money on the Los Angeles Lakers.

The former Laker, who was released under the amnesty provision earlier this offseason (then promptly signed with his hometown New York Knicks) harbors no ill-feelings towards his former team. In fact, he thinks they’re destined to represent the Western Conference in the NBA Finals as he told ESPN New York:

“I think the Lakers are going to go to the NBA Finals,” World Peace said during a signing for his children’s book “Metta’s Bedtime Stories” in downtown Manhattan on Wednesday.

“I think Kobe [Bryant's] gonna be healthy, they’re gonna get Pau [Gasol]. The Lakers are gonna make a big trade like they always do. They’re gonna get another good player, boom, boom, and they’re gonna go to the Finals. I believe it. Kobe’s gonna come back, he’s gonna play team ball, and Pau’s gonna play well.”
