The Ohio State Buckeyes will likely have quarterback Braxton Miller back this week, but we should still expect to see backup Kenny Guiton getting playing time after he’s filled in admirably for the injured Miller. He finished his first full-start having completed 21/32 attempts for 276 yards and four TDs in a 52-34 win over Cal.
Even if healthy, Tim May of Buckeye Extra doesn’t expect Miller to play the entire game Saturday:
Meyer said he has two objectives this week, which are, one, win the game, and two, get the team rolling toward the opening of Big Ten play next week vs. Wisconsin. Meyer just said on his radio call-in show on 97.1 The Fan that decision will be made game day. I take him at his word. But I certainly do NOT expect Miller to play all day.
This isn’t a QB-controversy yet, but Guiton has shown he’s worthy of being a part of the gameplan in some capacity for the rest of the year.
